Sudan Gets its Day at the Security Council

What can the UN do on Sudan?

United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken chaired a Security Council meeting on Sudan in late December. The meeting comes one month after Russia vetoed a Security Council resolution calling for a ceasefire and expanded humanitarian access in Sudan. What can the UN do about Sudan now? And why is Sudan perpetually neglected, despite the fact that it is the world’s largest humanitarian crisis by the numbers?

Mark Leon Goldberg and Anjali Dayal discuss these questions and much more. Plus, Professor Dayal reveals what grade she would give the Security Council for 2024.
